Labrador Retriever - Xp Sophie - Medium - Young - Male - Dog
From her family: Sophie is a 4 year old pit bull/lab mix. She is about 50lbs. She is spayed and UTD on shots/rabies. She has only been with me a short time, but unfortunately has had conflicting personalities w/ my american bulldog that were unforseen at the time we took her in. She can be a couch potato, but would love a high energy household with no other pets. She is good w/ basic commands and a lovebug with humans. Great w/ my 1 year old, 4 year old and 10 year old nephews. She loves all people! If you're looking for a loyal running/hiking partner, she is perfect for you! Please help my 'hunny bear' (that is her nickname <3) She loves, loves, loves to go on walks, but isn't the best on a leash. She is ok, untill there are any other dogs barking or running around. She gets quite antsy, and vocal if she see's other animals. She would do best in household w/ older children. She is tough to break off a toy. She gets really fixed on it. I'm working on two different commands w/ her - leave it and drop it. She's getting there, but patience is key w/ her. I taught her 'paw' - she was clueless when I took her in... but now a paw giving champ =) OH - and she IS crate trained!! She'll go right in. She doesn't really like to be left alone in one - she'll bark for a bit, but calms down. I don't crate her anymore, because she gets soooo excited when you come home and whips her tail on the metal bars and the tip of her tail becomes sore and bleeds. She loves to sunbathe, too!! I'll put a dog bed out on the deck on a warm sunny day, and she'll just chill out for hours... I am keeping Sophie in my home until we find her a forever home (I hope sooner then later). I'll be completely honest, her and my american bulldog get along 98% of the time, but there has been two fights between them. My AB is intact, and Sophie in my opinion is an Alpha female. The two have just had those two fights, that I cannot risk anymore. They are seperated when we're not home, but can romp and play nicely without getting into a fight while we're there... they can snuggle next to eachother - but there have been those two incidents that I just don't really understand why... so that's why I think she should go to an only pet home. Toys and bones are definately a no-no between the two of them. But neither were around when the two fights broke out. I even had them both licking a yogurt container at the same time... so I just don't know. E-mail [email removed] if interested
